So, I wanted to blog about the My Fit Foods experience and the 21 day challenge that I'm doing as of now. I'm on day 5. Let me tell you how it's going thus far...
I'm loving it! Some people have their own opinions and are negative Nancy's about the whole thing. Before I decided to start the 21 day challenge, I read up on numerous blogs and came to the conclusion that some people suck at life and will complain about ANYTHING they can possibly think of. Yes, there really are some people out there that I think are just the griping type & will try to come up with anything to complain about to slander a brand or company -- SO, I had to take that into consideration when I was reading both the pros & cons of the My Fit Foods challenge.
My initial email on their website got me linked up with the nutritionist at the closest My Fit Foods to me...within a few hours, I received a call from a representative and scheduled my consultation for the same day.
I went in, met with Rafael - my designated nutritionist during the challenge. He asked me what my fitness goals were and we chatted about some other things relating to food, the cocktail shot I'll be drinking in the morning (uh wait, diid somebody say shot? Sign me up!) I told him what I liked and what I didn't like when it came to food - and I'm definitely not really picky when it comes to food, so this was a pretty quick process. I'm staying on the plan that consists of 1,200-1,350 calories. Before you say anything like "that's practically nothing" "you're basically starving yourself"...we all have different opinions & I definitely believe that there are different ways to reach your goals, not just one set path. I also believe that it takes trial and error as well and eventually, you find what works the best for you. MFF (My Fit Foods) recommends the "Small" portions for women (that's the plan of 1200-1350 that I'm doing) (depending on your fitness goals). I'm not a fitness fanatic that works out for hours and lifts heavy weight (yet) - I'm working on it! Right now, I'm doing a lot of HIIT workouts & some OCR training that gets my heart pumping. Like I mentioned, I'm still trying to find what works best for me.
So, hang tight while I'm sure you're trying to sift through my rambling...this is what I think about MFF 21 day challenge so far: I'm on day 5 & I've lost 5lbs. I am eating 5 small meals a day. Most of the food is gluten free and all of it is very yummy!
(That's the salmon patty with asparagus - small dinner potion)
(Lean tenderloin pork with spicy mashed potatoes & green beans)
For me personally, I started the MFF 21 day challenge because I'm so busy I have a hard time finding time to meal prep...which always leads to me being inconsistent about me eating every few hours and what I eat exactly. Some days, I'll find myself so busy & 3pm will roll around and I've noticed I haven't even thought about food. Oh, what? It's past 8am? Where in the hell did the time go. Yikes. Kind of puts me in a losing situation. I've never had the issue of not eating...it's usually eating too much lol So, now that I find myself with less time to spare, if I'm not deathly hungry, I just won't eat if there's work to be done bc food is the last thing on my mind. It's a blessing and a curse to have a strong work ethic...but I'm getting it under control.
The absolute BEST part of MFF is that all of the meals are prepped...you just have to throw them in the microwave for 2 minutes & voila! Deliciousness in a little black box. You're probably thinking "how is that healthy if it's filled with preservatives?" No Preservatives. All natural & with MFF you pick up your food every couple of days to make sure it's fresh & yummy. The only down side to it...it's cost. But really, what do you expect? This is the next best thing to wine & bubble baths. If you're a busy bee like me and want to shed the pounds while still being able to have prepped meals & stay 100% healthy - I HIGHLY recommend it. It's about $650 for the full 21 days. This includes 5 small meals a day - (3 meals & 2 snacks.)
The ONLY negative thing that I have to say about it is that you have to ween your way off of coffee. (Which I've been wanting to do for months, so this is the extra push I've been needing) did I just hear that right? No coffee? Um Heck no. It's like a battle between the little devil & angel on my shoulders & I always see the devil drop kick the angel & say "You're drinking your coffee today, Chandra!!!" So, with not drinking coffee, I've been getting noticeable headaches during the day. Womp womp. Hoping they decide to knock if off soon.
I'm only on day 5 - so, I can't give you the low down on the whole scope of it all yet - but tune into my next blog & see how it's going for me. I'm down 5lbs - I've been drinking a boatload of water daily, so that's probably just water weight...but I'm feeling better and excited to see what the next few weeks bring!
xoxo,
Chandy
